Researchers from a variety of reputable organizations have argued that California’s energy mandates, which include efficiency standards, greenhouse gas reduction, and renewable energy production, are not being achieved in the most cost-effective and cost-efficient manner.

The non-partisan Little Hoover Commission calls for “Time Out” on energy policies in its report Rewiring California. California’s lawmakers need to understand the cumulative impacts of the various policies as well as develop a cohesive state energy strategy that prioritizes reliability, affordability and adequate supply.
