CARE_FastFacts_1CA has several different agencies that separately influence energy policy and environmental regulation implementation:

  • CA Public Utilities Commission (CPUC)
  • CA Air Resources Board (CARB)
  • CA Energy Commission (CEC)
  • California Independent System Operator (CAISO)

In CA, there are 45 existing GHG emissions reduction measures. Those measures complement 20 existing electricity mandates. The different regulations being imposed by different agencies are not being coordinated.
